Edo and Europe.
Expressing a fusion of people
"Choukoku Glass" that represents Tableau Kōbō. Auspicious patterns such as iron wire and grapes are engraved by sandblasting on a vessel that is blown with two or three layers of original colored glass one by one, and expressed in contrast with the color. The stories of the passing era and the events that you want to keep in mind. And it is a series with the theme of carving a dream pattern that makes you feel at home in your daily life on glass.
Made in Tokyo "Edo Glass". It is a glass that is made by each worker using traditional techniques that have continued since the Edo period. Tableau Kōbō's Edo Kiriko series is centered around designs with the motifs of small patterns and ukiyo-e, which have been loved since the Edo period. We have created highly original works created by our technology, such as collaboration between sandblasting and Edo Kiriko.
And the traditional art product "Edo Kiriko" that represents Japan. It is said that in 1834 (Tenpo 5th year), Kyubei Kagaya, a Biidoro shop in Edoden-cho, carved a glass surface with hard sand. In the Meiji era, the European cut glass technique was adopted, and the technique of "Edo Kiriko" handed down to the present age was confirmed. Edo Kiriko of Taburō Kōbō creates works with original designs, both works backed by the experience of skilled workers and works with a new sense.
The brand name of "Tableau Kōbō" means "painting". The three series represent a world that fuses the technologies and sensibilities of Edo and Europe. As the name suggests, I would like to create a painting-like work that captures people.
